Usain St. Leo Bolt OJ, CD OLY (/ju:seIn/, born 21 August 1986) is a former Jamaican sprinter. He is the only athlete to have won the Olympic 100-meter title and the 200 m title at three consecutive Olympics (2008) in 2012, 2008 and 2016 (both in London). He also won two relays of 4 x 100 gold medals. He gained worldwide fame for his double sprint victory in record-setting times during the 2008 Beijing Olympics and made him the first person who held both records after fully automatic time became mandatory. Gold medals for relays in the 100m relay from 2009 until 2015. The exception was a 100m false start. Bolt is the most popular male athlete of the World Championships. Bolt is the only athlete to have won four World Championship titles in the 200m, and is also one of the most successful in the 100m event, having won three titles.Bolt improved upon his second 100 mile world record of 9.69 by a time of 9.58 seconds in 2009, the largest improvement since the advent of the electronic timing. Bolt has two times broken the 200m world record, and has set a new one.
