Courteney Bass Cox (previously Courteney Cox Arquette; born on June 15, 1964) is an American actress and filmmaker. Her leading role on the sitcom Friends (1994-2004) earned the attention of an international audience. For her performance in the show, she was awarded seven Screen Actors Guild Award nominations, of which she won one. Gale Weathers, the horror film franchise Scream (1996-1999), was another award for her performance. She also appeared in Family Ties (1987-1989), Lucy Spiller (1907-2008) and Jules Cobb (2009-2015) on ABC/TBS.
