angie

The track "Angie" was released by The Rolling Stones from England The song is included on their 1973 album Goats Head Soup. It also served as the album's lead single, which was released on 20 August, 1973. As with most Rolling Stones songs, the song is credited to Keith Richards and Mick Jagger. It is widely acknowledged that Richards wrote almost all of the lyrics, and Jagger writing some lyrics. "Angie" was recorded between November and December 1972 and is an acoustic , guitar-driven ballad characterizing the end of a romantic relationship. Richards wrote the song's piano accompaniment. Nicky Hopkins was a regular on Rolling Stones recordings. The strings on the piece (as well as on another song, "Winter") were recorded by Nicky Harrison. One unusual aspect of the recorded version is Mick Jagger's vocal track that was recorded before the final vocals were recorded, is barely audible throughout the entire song. This is commonly called a ghost vocal.
