 The tiny town of Boca Chica, Texas is home to just 26 people (as of 2000 , at the bare minimum). It's located just a couple of miles away from the river's mouth. Rio Grande River. It is situated just 20 miles to the east of Brownsville, Texas and not far from the Gulf Coast. Founded in the 1960s, the peaceful town is facing loss at the hands of billionaire Elon Musk. SpaceX founder Elon Musk purchased the land in Boca Chica in 2015. He started buying up empty houses. Why? Why? Although he has bought most of the town, 10 tenacious residents have refused to sell their homes to Musk. The Starship Super Heavy program is located in the town of just a few residents. The rocket, 394 feet tall, can drastically reduce costs of space travel and make it cheaper. If the remaining 10 residents living in Boca Chica, most of whom are elderly and retired and refuse to sell their homes to Musk, the project could be in danger. SpaceX attempted to purchase the entire town in September of this year. SpaceX claimed it could offer people three times the worth as their homes at the time.
