It's been discovered that there are a few advantages to being a two time Formula One world champion. One of these is witnessed by the two-time Formula One champ Lewis Hamilton, who just agreed to a very lucrative extension of his contract with Mercedes-AMG. His contract with the company had been set to expire at the close of this year, but the extension will last for three more years - with a total $44 million annually to be possibly earned by the driver. Not to suggest that Lewis Hamilton needs the money or anything else - prior to this most recent contract coup the driver had an estimated net worth of around $200 million. Now the only thing he needs is to become more wealthy over the next three years (barring any financial catastrophes that might occur in the future). It's not hard to be proud of Hamilton's young age, considering that he just turned 30 in January. It's possible to be less impressed by Hamilton's accomplishments when you realize that the $44 million a year figure is based upon the maximum earning allowed by the contract. This includes win bonuses. That is Hamilton must keep winning races or else it could be that he earns less than $44 million per year. Once you've realized that, you almost sort of feel sorry for the guy, don't you?
