George Strait

 George Harvey Strait Sr. was born May 18th, 1952. He is an American musician, singer and actor. Strait is popularly referred to as the "King of Country" and is considered one of the most influential and well-known recording artists ever recorded at the time.In the 1980s Strait was a well-known and pioneering artist in the neotraditional style of country and was renowned for his straightforward cowboy image and roots-oriented sound at a time when the Nashville music industry was dominated by pop country crossover acts.Strait's popularity began when his first single "Unwound" was a hit in 1981, which signaled the mainstream ascendance of the neotraditional style. The 1980s saw seven albums from Strait topped the country charts. In the year 2000, Strait was named Artist of the Decade by the Academy of Country Music, inducted to the Country Music Hall of Fame, and won his first Grammy award for the album Troubadour. Strait was awarded the CMA Entertainer Of The Year in 1989, 1990, and 2013.
