 Troyal Garth Brooks, born on February 7, 1962, is a popular American country music musician and singer. The way he incorporates rock and pop elements in the country genre has earned him popularity, particularly in the United States with success on the country music single and album charts, multi-platinum records and record-breaking live performances as well as crossing over into the mainstream pop arena.Brooks is the only artist in the history of music to have released nine albums that earned diamond status in the United States (surpassing the Beatles which had a previous record of six); those albums are Garth Brooks (diamond), No Fences (17x platinum) and Ropin The Wind (14x platinum), The Chase (diamond) The Chase (diamond), In Pieces (diamond), The Hits (diamond), Sevens (diamond), Double Live (21x platinum) and The Ultimate Hits (diamond).Since 1989, Brooks has released 23 records in all including 13 studio albums and two live albums.
