Shonda

 Shonda Rhimes is an American writer, director, author, and producer with a net worth of $140 million. Her most well-known accomplishments include being the executive producer, creator and head writer for the series "Scandal," "Grey's Anatomy," and "Private Practice," among others.Shonda Lynn Rhimes was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 13, 1970. She was the sixth child of six. Shonda graduated from Marian Catholic High School. In high school, she served as a hospital volunteer which sparked an interest in hospital environments. Dartmouth College was where she studied film studies. Shonda completed her BA in 1991. Following her undergrad, Shonda moved to San Francisco to work at an advertising agency. Shonda then moved to Los Angeles in order to enroll in the MFA Program at the USC School of Cinematic Arts. She specialized in screenwriting and graduated at the top of her USC Class.After finishing her studies at USC, Rhimes, like many new college grads, was an unemployed screenwriter in Hollywood. She was a screenwriter on the documentary "Hank Aaron - Chasing the Dream" that won the Peabody Award in 1995.
