Marina Sirtis

 Marina Sirtis, /'se?rtIs/ was born 29 March 1955. She is a British actor. Her most famous work is her character as Counselor Deanna Troi in the television show Star Trek: The Next Generation and for her roles in four Star Trek feature films, and other roles in the Star Trek franchise.Marina Sirtis was born in Hackney, London, the daughter of Greek parents, Despina, a tailor's assistant, as well as John Sirtis.She was raised in Harringay, North London. Sirtis says that she was three when her self was sexually assaulted by her teenage babysitter's sons. Sirtis suffered from an eating disorder after the trauma of the assault. After being suffering from the disorder for over 20 years, she went into therapy in the 90s and was able manage the trauma and consume healthy food again.While in secondary school, Sirtis secretly auditioned for the drama school against the wishes of her parents, ultimately being accepted to the Guildhall School of Music and Drama
