 George Strait is an American country music musician, singer, producer, and actor with an estimated net worth of $300 million. George Strait, known as the "King of Country", is one of the most famous music artists of all time. In contrast to his contemporaries, George Strait made sure to stick to the traditional elements of country music and inspired others to move away from the pop-infused sound that became popular during the 80s.Strait is among the best-selling artists ever with sales of 100 million albums worldwide. 13 of his albums are multi-platinum, including the 8-times platinum "Pure Country" and 33 have earned platinum status. Overall, Strait is the 12th-best-selling artist in US history. In the 2000s, he was admitted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.After finishing high school, he signed up in the Army and was posted in Hawaii. He joined an Army sanctioned bandand then welcomed his first child into the world along with his wife, Norma. He served for four years serving in the Army and reached the rank of Corporal. After his honorable discharge after which he continued his post-secondary studies at Southwest Texas State University, ultimately earning a bachelor's degree in agriculture.
