 D.L. Hughley is an American actor, comedian writer, author, and radio host, with an estimated net worth of more than of $10 million is Hughley. D.L. Hughley is best known as the host of BET's ComicView in the early 1990s. D.L. D.L. Hughley, aka Darryl Lynn Hughley, was born in Portsmouth, Virginia on March 6, 1963. He is the son of Audrey and Charles Hughley, a Delta Air Lines maintenance worker. Following D.L., the family resided in Portsmouth only for two months. was born before moving to California. He grew up in South Central, Los Angeles in which he experienced troubles as a teen when he was a part of street band The Bloods. After being kicked out of San Pedro High School he decided to get his GED and turn his back on the gangs. He was then employed by the Los Angeles Times.Hughley began his career as the host of the BET stand-up comedy showcalled "ComicView", in 1992. The show was a huge success and he hosted until 1993. He launched his own show in 1998, which was a show he appeared on and also producing and writing, titled "The Hughleys." From 2002 to 2002, The show ran 89 episodes during four seasons on ABC and UPN.
