David Ortez

 David Ortiz, a Dominican-born professional baseball player who is currently worth $55 million, is a former Dominican-born professional player in baseball. David Ortiz is best known for his playing time with the Boston Red Sox in Major League Baseball. He has been a seven-time All-Star player, and holds the record for single season the most home runs during an entire season for the Red Sox with 54. Ortiz was awarded a medal in 2005, which declared him to be the "greatest clutch hitter" in the history of the Red Sox. "David Ortiz," often referred to as "Big Papi", is a Dominican Republic native who was born in Santo Domingo on November 18, 1975. In June of 2008, the American citizen was born in Boston. He was the fourth child of four born to Enrique Ortiz, Angela Rosa Arias and died on the 11th of June in 2008. After finishing his studies at Estudia Espaillat High School, Dominican Republic, Ortiz was signed by the Seattle Mariners in November 1992. He was just 17 when he signed his contract 10 days later. He played baseball for the Mariners' farm team, called the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers. He was recognized as one of the top players in the game and was transferred to the Minnesota Twins in 1996. Baseball America named Ortiz as the most thrilling player in the Midwest League in 1996.
