Selena Marie Gomez (/s@'li:n@ 'goUmez/ s@-LEE-n@ GOH-mez born July 22nd, 1992) is an American actress, singer, and film producer. Gomez started her acting career in 2002 in the children's TV series Barney & Friends. She rose to fame for her role as Alex Russo, a teenage character on the Disney Channel television show Wizards of Waverly Place (2007-12). Alongside her television career, Gomez appeared in the films Another Cinderella Story (2008), Princess Protection Program (2009), Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie (2009), Ramona and Beezus (2010), Monte Carlo (2011), Spring Breakers (2012), Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (2016), The Dead Don't Die (2019) and A Rainy Day in New York (2019). Her credits as a voice actor include the part of Mavis in Hotel Transylvania (2012-2022).
