Kelly Clarkson

 Kelly Brianne Clarkson was born on April 24 in 1982. She is an American singer-songwriter, author, and television personality. She rose to fame when she won the first season of American Idol in 2002, which led to a record deal with RCA. Her first single, "A Moment Like This" was a top hit on the US Billboard Hot 100, and became the nation's top selling single of 2002. It was included on her debut studio album, Thankful (2003), which debuted atop the Billboard 200. Clarkson made a decision to reinvent herself and resigned from Idol management to concentrate on pop rock for Breakaway (2004). It was accompanied by four US top-ten singles - the album's title track, "Since U Been Gone", "Behind These Hazel Eyes", and "Because of You" - Breakaway was sold to more than 12 million copies worldwide and earned two Grammy Awards.Clarkson was also in charge of the creative process for her third album, My December (2007) co-writing all tracks and becoming its executive producer. The label was not happy with the album's more mellow rock songs and reluctantly promoted it.
