 Julia Scarlett Elizabeth Louis-Dreyfus (/'lu:i 'draIf@s/ LOO-ee-DRY-f@ss; born on 13 January 1961) is an American comedian, actress and producer who starred on the comedy television series Saturday Night Live (1982-1985), Seinfeld (1989-1998), The New Adventures of Old Christine (2006-2010) The New Adventures of Old Christine (2006-2010) and Veep (2012-2019). She is one of America's most popular actresses. She has been awarded more Primetime Emmy Awards, more Screen Actors Guild Awards, and more nominations than other performer. Her career started in the field of comedy as an actor with The Practical Theatre Company in Chicago, Illinois. This led to her being cast as a character on Saturday Night Live (1982-1985). Seinfeld was her breakthrough in 1990, where she was cast as Elaine Benes for nine seasons.
