Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson (born 15 April 1990) is an English actress and activist from England. Her work is well-known for her appearances in both blockbusters and independent films as well as for her women's rights activism, she's received a selection of accolades such as an award for a Young Artist Award and three MTV Movie Awards. Forbes as well as Vanity Fair have ranked Watson as one of the highest-paid actresses around the globe. Time magazine also named Watson one of the 100 most influential people worldwide in 2015. Watson attended the Dragon School where she was educated in acting at Stagecoach Theatre Arts' Oxford branch. As a youngster she became a star after landing her first acting job professionally as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter film series, having previously acted only in school productions. Watson also starred in the 2007 adaptation of the novel Ballet Shoes and lent her voice to The Tale of Despereaux (2008). After the last Harry Potter film, Watson appeared in a role as a support in My Week with Marilyn (2011). She then starred in the role of Sam as a flirtatious and charming character.
