Cate Blanchett

 Catherine Elise Blanchett AC (/'blaentSItborn on May 14, 1969) is an Australian actor and television producer. She is regarded as one of the top actresses of her generation. Her versatility across blockbuster and independent films, as well as on stage makes her a favorite. She has received numerous accolades including two Academy Awards, three British Academy Film Awards, as well as three Golden Globe Awards, in addition to nominations for the Tony Award and two Primetime Emmy Awards.After graduating from the National Institute of Dramatic Art, Blanchett began her acting career on the Australian stage, playing roles in Electra in 1992 and Hamlet in 1994. International attention was paid to her performance as Elizabeth I in Elizabeth (1998). She was awarded the Golden Globe Award and BAFTA Award for Best Actress and received her first Academy Award nomination. She received the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Katharine Hepburn in Martin Scorsese's The Aviator (2004).
