 Carrie Marie Underwood (born March 10 in 1983) is an American country artist. After winning the fourth season of American Idol 2005, she rose to fame. The song she sang "Inside Your Heaven" made her the only country singer to be the first to chart atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart and the only solo artist from the country genre in the 2000s to have an album with a top-ranked song on the Hot 100. Some Hearts, her debut album, was supported by the pop-punk singles "Jesus, Take the Wheel" and "Before He Cheats". It was the most popular solo debut album by a female in the history of country music. She was awarded three Grammy Awards for the album, including Best New Artist. Carnival Ride (2007), her second studio album was one of the most successful debut weeks ever recorded by a female artist. The album also received two Grammy Awards. The third studio album she released, Play On (2009) was preceded by the hit single "Cowboy Casanova" that had one of the biggest single-week increases on the Hot 100.She achieved the second best-selling release by a woman in 2012 and won an Grammy Award with her fourth album, Blown Away (2012).
