 Thomas Sowell, born June 30 1930 Thomas Sowell, born June 30, 1930, is an American economist. He was an economics professor at Cornell University, the University of California, Los Angeles as well as, since 1980, at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University which is where he's currently a Senior Fellow. Sowell is a conservative libertarian who advocates supply-side economics. More than thirty books were written by the author, many of which were reprinted in revised editions. In 2002, he received the National Humanities Medal.What the welfare system and other forms of government programs do is making people pay to fail. The welfare system and other government programs allow people to fail.
