Netflix YA drama The Society left fans crying out for more after that compelling season finale which revealed what had happened to the teens from West Ham. Netflix has revealed that season 2 of The Society will be cancelled. The Netflix statement read: "We have made the difficult decision not to go forward with The Society and I Am Not Happy With This. These decisions were taken because of COVID's conditions. We are disappointed. According to The Hollywood Reporter, despite being pleased with the shows the show's performances there was uncertainty regarding when they would air and the unexpected budget increases due the epidemic. The additional problems of managing a massive crew proved too much to handle. Chris Keyser, showrunner at Variety, stated that the team spent the last couple of months getting ready to return again and dealing with COVID protocols in general. "And I received an email from Netflix saying, 'We have taken this choice.' It was clearly quite upsetting and sudden."
