 Peninnah her rival would slap and torture Hannah because Peninnah was her only child. It continued year after year; whenever they visited the home of the LORD, Peninnah would upset Hannah enough that she'd cry and refused to take food. The husband Elkanah would often ask her "Hannah Why are you crying? Why don't you eat? Why are you always so sad? Hannah was up one day after she had eaten her meal at the house of God at Shiloh. She was very upset and wept bitterly while praying to the LORD. Eli, the priest, was at the entrance. Hannah made a solemn promise: "Almighty LORD!
