Bret Baier

 William Bret Baier (/'bret 'beI@r/ BRET BAY-@r; born August 4 1970) is the host of Special Report with Bret Baier on the Fox News Channel as well as the chief political correspondent for Fox. Before joining Fox, he was the Chief White House Correspondent of the network and was also a Pentagon correspondent. He was raised Catholic and went to Marist School in Atlanta, Georgia. He graduated in 1988. Baier then attended the methodist DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana and graduated in 1992 with a BA degree in political science and English. While at DePauw, he became a part of the Xi Chapter of the Sigma Chi fraternity.Baier began his television career at a local station WJWJ TV16 on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, before moving to WRAL-TV which was then a CBS affiliate in Raleigh, North Carolina. In 1998, he sent Fox News an audition tape and was hired to be the Atlanta bureau chief. He drove from Georgia to Arlington in Virginia to report on the Pentagon attack on September 11th 2001. In the absence of being asked to be the Pentagon correspondent for the news network, he never returned to Atlanta.
