Marina Sirtis

 Marina Sirtis, /'se?rtIs/ was born 29 March 1955. She is a British actor. She is most well-known for her role as the Counselor Deanna Troi on the television series Star Trek: The Next Generation and four Star Trek feature films, and other roles within the Star Trek franchise.Marina Sirtis was born in Hackney, London, the daughter of Greek parents, Despina, a tailor's assistant and John Sirtis. She was raised in Harringay, North London. Sirtis claims that her three-year-old self was sexually assaulted by the sons of her babysitter's teenage daughter. Sirtis was suffering from an eating disorder, which resulted from the trauma from the assault. Sirtis was suffering from an eating disorder for over 20 years after the attack. She sought therapy in the 90s and was eventually able overcome the trauma and regain her eating habits.
