Charly Jordan

Charley Jordan (July 11, 1890 - November 15 54) was an American St. Louis blues musician, singer and songwriter, as well as a talent scout originally from Mabelvale, Arkansas, United States. He was famous for his unique style that drew on his rural roots. The Killer Blues Headstone Project established a headstone for the late Charley Jordan.Jordan recorded a variety of singles for Vocalion as well as Decca between 1930 and 1937, and also played with a number of well-known bluesmen from the 1920s to the 1940s. Peetie, Roosevelt Sykes and Casey Bill Weldon were among Jordan's musical associates. He was known for his "crisply-firm guitar" and was the subject of many of his greatest songs, like "Keep It Clean". This was because of his extramusical career as bootlegger. This gave him a long term disability and resulted in him walking on crutches thereafter (which can be seen in the limited photos of Jordan available).
