Kelly Clarkson

 Kelly Brianne Clarkson (born April 24 in 1982) is an American singer, songwriter as well as a writer and TV presenter. Following her win on the 2002 season of American Idol, she was able to gain a record deal with RCA. Her debut single, "A Moment Like This" made it to the top of the US Billboard Hot 100, and was also the nation's top selling single of 2002. It was included on her debut album, Thankful (2003), that debuted at the top of the Billboard 200. Looking to reinvent her look, Clarkson parted ways with Idol management and shifted to pop rock for her sophomore studio album, Breakaway (2004). It was accompanied by four US top ten hits - the title song, "Since U Been Gone", "Behind These Hazel Eyes" as well as "Because of You" - Breakaway sold over 12 million copies worldwide and was awarded two Grammy Awards.Clarkson also took on more creative control on her third studio album, My December (2007), co-writing all of its tracks , and later becoming the album's executive producer. The label was not happy with the album's more mellow rock tracks and resisted promoting it.
