Elisha Cuthbert Phaneuf (/@'li:S@(born 30 November 1982) is a Canadian actress and model. She made her first appearance as a child actor on the Canadian horror-themed children's series Are You afraid of the dark? She also hosted Popular Mechanics for Kids. She made her debut in a feature film in the 1997 Canadian family-drama Dancing on the Moon. Her first leading role came in the drama film Airspeed (No Control) alongside Joe Mantegna. She was in Lucky Girl in 2001. The film won her her first prize which was the Gemini Awards. In 2001 she made the move to Hollywood and was cast as Kim Bauer in series 24. It was her first major part in an American production. She was twice nominated for Screen Actors Guild Awards for this role. In 2003, she played Darcie Goldberg in the comedy college Old School and Carol-Anne in Love Actually. Cuthbert was widely praised for her breakout part in the role of Danielle in the 2004 film for teens, The Girl Next Door,
